Almost there! The banquet plans are coming along. Caterer is set; DJ is set; special guest Mrs Meehan, who will be turning 80 years old that weekend. I spoke to her a couple of days ago and she is just tickled to be invited. We will do a special presentation in her honor.

Becky James from the Bout Time Bed and Breakfast (Montour Falls) would love it if any of our visiting classmates needed a place for the weekend that they would consider her place. Her number is 607-210-4079 or visit www.bouttimebnb.com.

Due to a scheduling conflict (a wedding reception) we will not be able to get in the community center to decorate until saturday morning. All are welcome to join us saturday morning, early, to set up for the banquet.

In lieu of decorating on friday nite we have decided to have a get together at Seneca Lodge at 7pm. Nothing fussy, no tickets or invites required, just come and have a drink and chat with old friends. Please pass this on to one and all, as some classmates were not planning on coming because we weren't doing anything except the banquet.

We will be having our last reunion committee on June 17th at Seneca Lodge @ 7:00 pm, to tie up any loose ends. Bob Lee will be joining us to discuss what he will talk about as he is our guest speaker. Please feel free to join us.

Just a quick update. Alumni banquet tickets will go on sale May 1st and will be available at WG Supply, Famous Brands and The Schuyler County Day Care Council. The cost is $22 in advance and $28 at the door. They will also be available by contacting me at tlmcclernon@teppco.com or at 607-936-3728, and I will be more than happy to get them out to you.

I need to make a correction to a previous blog entry. The banquet committee decided to make a donation from the class in memory of Josh Culligan, son of fellow classmate Darrin Culligan, who passed away from cancer. I stated that it went to the American Cancer Society, when it in fact went to the local library in his (Josh's) memory.

Plans are coming along. We decided to ask Coach Bob Lee to be our guest speaker and he accepted. We look forward to having him speak. Kevin Palmer and his wife Jean worked really hard to get a poster together advertising the banquet and it turned out really great. You will be able to see them around town very soon! There will also be ads in the local papers and on the radio keep your eyes and ears peeled.

To those of you who haven't registered on the web please do so, we really would like to know how many classmates we can look forward to seeing. We look forward to seeing everyone!

We recently had an Alumni Banquet Committee meeting at Shari and Brud Hollands house and we discussed where we would like to leave the advanced sale tickets. There were several suggestions, and I will be contacting those businesses before our next meeting in March.

One of our fellow classmates, Darrin Culligan, recently lost his son Josh after a long battle with cancer. We decided to make a donation to the American Cancer Society from the entire class of 1983, in Josh's name.

We had previously discussed having Brian O'Donald as our guest speaker, but due to a scheduling conflict he will be unable to take part. We decided to ask Bob (Coach)Lee to be our guest speaker. Shari will handle that task.
